It was many and many a year ago,
in a kingdom by the sea
That there lived a maiden whom you may know
by the name of Annabel Lee.

And this maiden she lived
with no other thought
than to love and be loved by me.

Well, she was a child and I was a child
in this kingdom by the sea.
And we loved with a love that was greater than love,
my Annabel Lee and me.

With a love that the angels
in heaven above . . .
they coveted her and me.

Well, this is the reason that long ago,
in this kingdom by the sea,
That a wind came out of a cloud,
chillin' my Annabel Lee

So her high-born Kinsmen came
and they bore her away from me,
And they put her in a sepulchre by the sea.

Well, the angels not as happy in heaven,
went envying her and me
Yes, this is the reason that all men know
that I lost my Annabel Lee

That a wind came out
of a cloud by night,
chillin' (killin') my Annabel Lee.

Well, our love it was stronger by far
than the love of those who were older than we
And neither the angels in heaven above,
nor the demons under the sea

Can ever dissever
my soul from the soul
of my beautiful Annabel Lee.

Well, the moon never beams without bringin' me dreams
of my beautiful Annabel Lee
And the stars never rise but I see the bright eyes
of my beautiful Annabel Lee

And so all the night tide
I sit by the side
of my darling, my life, and my bride.

In a sepulchre there by the sea.
In a tomb by the sounding sea.
With my beautiful Annabel Lee.
